Lidl offers car leasing: New cars on offer again at discount prices

As in the case of the Fiat 500 in February 2019, the passenger cars will also be sold as part of a cooperative effort. Vehiculum is the reach and name recognition of discounter Lidl. Lessor is however not the retailer company, but Sixt leasing in Munich. The Renault and Kia are brokered by the Berlin start-up Vehiculum. (Apple iCar is to charge 120.000 euros – is this what the end of the German car industry looks like??)

Since 2017, the capital city company has dedicated itself to digitizing the German car leasing market. Vehiculum uses an algorithm to determine the best leasing offers in Germany on a daily basis. Users can then compare them on the platform of the Berlin start-up – and conclude contracts directly. The leasing platform has now established itself: The company now employs just under 70 people, who have brokered cars with a total value of more than 500 million euros in recent years. The joint project with Lidl now means a next step. Vehiculum says it has agreed on a long-term cooperation. However, Lidl does not disclose at which intervals how many cars of which brands are offered via Lidl. (VW e-up! taken off the market – long delivery times for e-cars are to blame)

Lidl offers car leasing: these vehicles from Kia and Renault are available from the discounter

The offer of Lidl, Vehiculum and Sixt Leasing includes only gasoline cars. It currently includes a Kia and two models from the French manufacturer Renault: In the case of the Korean, it’s the city SUV Kia Stonic 1.0 T-GDI in the “Vision” equipment version. According to official figures, the 100-hp car with manual transmission, 17-inch rims, automatic climate control and heated seats consumes 5.2 liters and emits 120 grams of CO2. Over a term of 48 months and with a mileage of 10.000 kilometers a year, the Kia Stonic mini crossover is available at leasing rates of 135 euros a month. A down payment or transfer costs are not due, especially the latter are otherwise with up to 1.000 Euro real cost traps. In addition, terms of 24 or 36 months and higher mileage can also be selected – with corresponding changes in leasing conditions. The same applies to the optional packages “Vehiculum Insurance” and “Service Package” for maintenance and wear and tear. Also on offer are a Renault Clio (67 hp) and a Renault Twingo (65 hp) each in the “SCe Life” equipment line with cruise control and LED daytime running lights. In the pre-configured package with a term of 48 months and a mileage of 10.000 kilometers per year, the Renault Clio small car is available from a leasing rate of 109 euros per month – the Renault Twingo small car is available from 99 euros per month. Lidl offers car leasing: delivery of the vehicles not via the discounter stores

The delivery does not take place via the stores of the discounter, but the new cars can be picked up in Germany at three locations- in Berlin, in Garching near Munich or in Egelsbach near Frankfurt am Main. Optionally, you can also have the car delivered to your doorstep. However, this costs extra: the monthly leasing rate then increases by eight euros in each case. (With material from SP-X)
