Pair and connect the head unit with a Bluetooth cell phone

Make sure that the Bluetooth function of your cell phone is turned on. Refer to the user manual of your phone for more information.

The Bluetooth device is stored separately according to the user profile.

If no phone has been paired

  1. Press [ ]> Press [Phone. Or press [ ] on the steering wheel remote control.
  • [Cancel]: Cancel Bluetooth connection establishment.
  1. Initiate the search for Bluetooth devices on the cell phone. (The default vehicle name is set to the name of the vehicle you purchased.)
  2. 1) If SSP (Secure Simple Pairing) is not supported, enter the passkey on your Bluetooth device. (This is 0000.)

2) If SSP (Secure Simple Pairing) is supported, press [Yes] on the pop-up screen of your Bluetooth device.

  1. The connection with the Bluetooth device is established. The contacts and call list of the cell phone are downloaded. If the connection attempt fails, an error message is displayed on the screen.

If a cell phone has already been paired

  1. On [ ]> Press [Phone. Or press [ ] on the steering wheel remote control.
  2. In the list of Bluetooth devices that appears, press the entry that identifies the desired device. To pair another device, press [Add new]. Under ” If no phone has been paired ” perform steps 3 – 4.

Pair another device

  1. Press [SETUP]> [Device-connection]> Press [Phone Connections.

  1. Select the device to be paired. If no device you want to pair is displayed, press [Add new].

  1. Select the service that you want to connect, then press [OK].
    Only one Bluetooth hands-free device can be selected when Bluetooth connection is established. But if Bluetooth audio is selected, multiple connections are also supported.
  2. Initiate the search for Bluetooth devices on the cell phone. (The default vehicle name is set to the name of the vehicle you purchased.)
  3. 1) If SSP (Secure Simple Pairing) is not supported, enter the passkey on your Bluetooth device. (This is 0000.)

2) If SSP (Secure Simple Pairing) is supported, press [Yes] on the pop-up screen of your Bluetooth device. (The pop-up screen may look different from the one on your Bluetooth device.)

  1. The connection with the Bluetooth device is established. The contacts and call list of the cell phone are downloaded. If the connection attempt fails, an error message will be displayed on the screen. Once the device is added to the list, you can switch the connection status by pressing the name or icon of the desired device and selecting the function you want to use.

1 Bluetooth media ( ) and telephony ( ) connected

Bluetooth media and telephony are connected. You can play the audio content stored on the smartphone connected via Bluetooth. You can also use the telephony functions via Bluetooth. (Send / receive phone calls and messages, and use contacts)

2 Bluetooth media ( ) connected

Bluetooth media connected. You can play the audio contents stored on the smartphone connected via Bluetooth. But telephony is not available.

3 Bluetooth connection disconnected

The Bluetooth connection is disconnected. Media and telephony via Bluetooth are not available.

  • For safety reasons, it is not possible to pair a Bluetooth cell phone when the vehicle is in motion. Park the vehicle in a safe place first, only then you can pair a Bluetooth cell phone. Up to 6 cell phones can be paired. If there are already 6 cell phones paired and you want to pair another one, you have to unpair one first.
  • Some functions may not be supported if the Bluetooth devices – the in-car system and the cell phone – are not sufficiently compatible with respect to Bluetooth.
  • While a Bluetooth device is connected, a new device cannot be paired. If you want to pair a new cell phone, then you must first disconnect a connected Bluetooth device.

Disconnect connected cell phone

  1. On [SETUP]> [Device connection]> Press [Phone Connections.
  2. Select the icon (speakerphone or audio) of the device to be disconnected.

To reconnect the disconnected cell phone, select the disconnected cell phone.

If a cell phone is no longer to be used together with the system, you can delete it. Note that when deleting a Bluetooth device, all call logs and contacts belonging to that device will also be deleted.

  1. Press [SETUP]> [Device connection]> Press [Phone Connections.
  2. Press [Remove devices.

  1. Select the relevant device and then press [Remove]> Press [Yes.
  • [Select all]: Select all items.
  • [Unselect]: deselect all items.

Call by entering the phone number

  1. On the start screen, click on [Phone]> Press [ J.
  2. Enter the phone number using the keypad on the dialing screen.

  1. Press [ ] on the dialing screen or press [ W ] on the steering wheel remote control.

If you mistyped digits, you can press [ M ] to delete the last digit of the typed digits.

Redial

  1. On the home screen, click [Phone]> Press [ J.
  2. Press and hold [ ] on the dial screen or [ W ] on the steering wheel remote control.

If there are no entries in the list of dialed numbers, redialing is not possible.

Accept/reject call

  1. When a call is received, a pop-up message is displayed.
  2. To accept the call, press [Accept] in the pop-up message or press [ W ] on the steering wheel remote control. To reject the call, press [Reject] in the pop-up message or [ Z ] on the steering wheel remote control. To send an appropriate message to the caller of the call you want to reject, select [Message] in the pop-up message.
  • If the service feature “Display caller’s phone number” is enabled, the caller’s phone number is displayed.
  • If the caller’s phone number is also stored in the phonebook, the caller’s name is also displayed.
  • The service feature “Display caller’s phone number” may not match a phonebook entry because it refers to the cellular service provider’s data.
  • The [Reject] function on incoming call may not be supported by some cell phones.

Put the call on the cell phone

  1. During a call, if you want to transfer the call from the hands-free car kit to the cell phone, press [To cell phone] on the call screen.Press ] or press and hold [ W ] on the steering wheel remote control. As the figure below shows, the call is switched to the cell phone.

  1. If you want to transfer this call from the cell phone to the handsfree car kit during a phone call, press [Handsfree] on the screen.Press ] or press and hold [ W ] on the steering wheel remote control. The phone call is switched to handsfree mode.

End phone call

  1. To end a phone call, press [ ] on the cell phone screen or [ Z ] on the steering wheel remote control.
  2. The phone call is ended.

During a call, use the menu

The following menu commands are available during a telephone call.

Mute / unmute the sound of the microphone.

Switch to a display to enter ARS numbers.

Switch call from hands-free car kit to cell phone.

With split screen you can check the call data during a call.

Call list

Make a call from the call list

  1. Press [ I ] on the cell phone screen, or press [ W ] on the steering wheel remote control.

  1. Press [All], [Outgoing], [Incoming] or [Missed].
  • [All]: Display list of all calls.
  • [Outgoing]: View list of outgoing calls.
  • [Incoming]: Show list of incoming calls.
  • [Missed]: Show the list of missed calls.
  1. Press the phone number you want to dial.

Some cell phones do not store a call list.

You can download the call log from your cell phone.

  1. Press [ I ] on the cell phone screen.
  2. Press [ ]> [Download]> Press [Yes.

  • A list with up to 50 entries about received, missed or attempted calls can be downloaded.
  • This download function may not be supported on some cell phones. Check if the Bluetooth device supports the download function.

Contacts

Make a call from the Contacts folder

  1. Press [ F ] on the cell phone screen. Contacts are displayed on the screen.

  1. Select the contact you want to call.

Download contacts stored in cell phone

You can download the contacts from your cell phone.

  1. Press [ F ] on the cell phone screen.
  2. Press [ ]> [Download]> Press [Yes.

  • When downloading phone contacts, the previous data will be deleted.
  • Possibly this function is not supported by some cell phones.
  • Up to 5000 contacts can be downloaded.

Search by name or number

You can search contacts by name or number if you enter the name or number as search criteria.

  1. Press [ F ]> [ ]> Press [Search.

  1. Search for contacts and press [OK].
  2. Select the contact you want to dial.

Messages (SMS)

You can check the text messages (SMS) that you have received from others.

Check for new messages

When receiving a message (SMS), a pop-up screen is displayed. On the text message screen, press [View] or [Listen] or [Close].

  • [View]: Open the text message.
  • [Listen]: Read out the text message.
  • [Close]: Close the pop-up screen of the displayed text message.

View and reply to text messages

  1. Press [ K ] on the cell phone screen.

  1. Select the entry you want to see.

  • [Listen]: Read out the text message.
  • [Reply]: Reply to text message.
  • [Call]: make a call by redialing.
  1. To answer the text message, press [Reply].

  1. Select the desired wording and press [Send].

Some functions may not be supported due to limited Bluetooth compatibility.
