Pair and connect the head unit with a Bluetooth cell phone

Make sure that the Bluetooth function of your cell phone is turned on. Inform yourself with the help of the operating instructions of your phone.

If no phone has been paired

  1. Press [Phone] on the home screen. Or press [ ] on the steering wheel remote control.
  • [Cancel]: Cancel the Bluetooth connection.
  1. Initiate the search for Bluetooth devices on the cell phone. (The default vehicle designation is Kia Motors.)
  2. 1) If SSP (Secure Simple Pairing) is not supported, enter the passkey for your Bluetooth device. (This is 0000.)

2) If SSP (Secure Simple Pairing) is supported, press [Yes] on the pop-up screen of your Bluetooth device.

  1. The connection with the Bluetooth device is established. The contacts and call log of the cell phone will be downloaded. If the connection attempt fails, an error message will be displayed on the screen.

If a cell phone has already been paired

  1. Press [Phone] on the home screen. Or press [ ] on the steering wheel remote control.
  2. In the list of Bluetooth devices that appears, press the entry of the desired device. To pair another device, press [Add new]. Under ” If no phone has been paired “, perform steps 3 – 4.

Pair another device

  1. Press [SETUP]> [Device-connection]> [Bluetooth]> Press [Bluetooth Connections.

  1. Select the device to be paired. If no device is displayed that you want to pair, press [Add new].

  1. Select the service to be paired, then press [OK].
    If Bluetooth handsfree is selected under connection settings, audio remains deactivated. However, if Bluetooth Audio is selected, multiple connections are also supported.

  1. Initiate the search for Bluetooth devices on the cell phone. (The default vehicle name is Kia Motors.)
  2. 1) If SSP (Secure Simple Pairing) is not supported, enter the passkey on your Bluetooth device. (This is 0000.)

2) If SSP (Secure Simple Pairing) is supported, press [Yes] on the pop-up screen of your Bluetooth device. (The pop-up screen may look different from the one on your Bluetooth device.)

  1. The connection with the Bluetooth device is established. The contacts and the call list of the cell phone will be downloaded. If the connection attempt fails, an error message is displayed on the screen.
  • For security reasons, it is not possible to pair a Bluetooth cell phone when the vehicle is in motion. Park the vehicle in a safe place first, only then you can pair a Bluetooth cell phone. Up to 6 cell phones can be paired. If 6 cell phones are already paired and you want to pair another one, you have to delete the pairing of one of the five first.
  • Some functions may not be supported if the system in the car and the cell phone are not sufficiently compatible with regard to Bluetooth.
  • While a Bluetooth device is connected, a new device cannot be paired. If you want to pair a new cell phone, you must first disconnect a connected Bluetooth device.

Disconnect connected cell phone

  1. Press [SETUP]> [Device connection]> [Bluetooth]> Press [Bluetooth Connections.
  2. Select the connected cell phone.

  1. Press [Disconnect.

If you want to reconnect the disconnected cell phone, select the disconnected cell phone.

If a cell phone is no longer to be used together with the system, you can delete it. Note that when deleting a Bluetooth device, all call logs and contacts belonging to that device will also be deleted.

  1. Press [SETUP]> [Device connection]> [Bluetooth]> Press [Bluetooth Connections.
  2. Press [Remove devices.

  1. Select the relevant device and then click [Remove]> Press [Yes.
  • [Select all]: Select all items.
  • [Deselect]: Deselect all the items.

Call by typing the phone number

  1. Enter the phone number using the keypad displayed on the screen of the cell phone.
  2. Press [ ] on the cell phone screen or [ ] on the steering wheel remote control.

If you mistyped the number, you can press [ ] to delete the last digit of the number you typed in.

Redial

On the cell phone screen, press and hold [ ] or on the steering wheel remote control, press and hold [ ].

If there are no entries in the dialed number list, redialing is not possible.

Accept/reject call

  1. When a call comes in, a pop-up message is displayed.
  2. To accept the call, press [Accept] in the pop-up message or [ ] on the steering wheel remote control. To reject the call, press [Reject] in the pop-up message or [ ] on the steering wheel remote control. To send an appropriate message to the caller of the call you want to reject, select [Message] in the pop-up message.
  • If the “Display caller’s phone number” service feature is turned on, the caller’s phone number is displayed.
  • If the caller’s phone number is also stored in the phonebook, the caller’s name is also displayed.
  • The [Reject] function for incoming call is not supported on some cell phones.

Place call on cell phone

  1. During a phone call, if you want to transfer this call from the hands-free car kit to the cell phone, press [To cell phone] on the screen or press and hold [ ] on the steering wheel remote control. As the figure below shows, the phone call is switched to the cell phone.

  1. During a call, if you want to transfer the call from the cell phone to the hands-free car kit, press [Hands-free] on the screen.Press [ ] or press and hold [ ] on the steering wheel remote control. The phone call is switched to hands-free mode.

End call

  1. To end a call, press [ ] on the cell phone screen or [ ] on the steering wheel remote control.
  2. The phone call is ended.

Use the menu during a call

During a phone call, you can use the following menu commands.

1 : Activate / deactivate muting of microphone.

2 : Adjust volume of microphone.

3 : Display the screen for entering an ARS number.

4 : Switch phone call from handsfree to cell phone.

5 : End phone call.

Call list

Making a call from the call list

  1. Press [ ] on the cell phone screen or [ ] on the steering wheel remote control.

  1. Press [All], [Outgoing], [Incoming] or [Missed].
  • [All]: Display all call lists.
  • [Outgoing]: Display list of outgoing calls.
  • [Incoming]: Display the list of received calls.
  • [Missed]: Display the list of missed calls.
  1. Press on the corresponding entry to call.

Some cell phones do not store a call history.

You can download the call list from your cell phone.

  1. Press [ ] on the cell phone screen.

  1. Go to [Menu]> [Download]> Press [Yes.
  • A list with up to 50 entries about received, missed or attempted calls can be downloaded.
  • This download function may not be supported on some cell phones. Check if the Bluetooth device supports the download function.

Contacts

Make a call from the Contacts folder

  1. Press [ ] on the cell phone screen. Contacts are displayed on the screen.

  1. Select the contact you want to call.

Download contacts stored in the cell phone

You can download contacts from your cell phone.

  1. Press [ ] on the cell phone screen.
  2. Press [Menu]> [Download]> Press [Yes.

  • If contacts have already been downloaded, they will be deleted by the newly downloaded contacts, or. Replaces.
  • This function may not be supported by some cell phones.
  • You can download up to 5000 contacts.

Search by name or number

You can search contacts by name or number you entered as search criteria.

  1. Press [ ]> [Menu]> Press [Search.

  1. Search for contacts, and then press [OK].
  2. Select the contact you want to call.

Favorites

If a phone number has already been saved under Favorites, it can easily be dialed: To do this, simply tap the entry.

But the number must have been added to the favorites first.

  1. On the cell phone screen, press [ ].

  1. Select the desired favorites.

Add as favorite

Up to 10 contacts can be added to the Favorites menu.

  1. On the cell phone screen press [ ]> Press [Add New.

  1. Press [ ]> [Close]> Press [ ].

Phone numbers stored under favorites can be edited or deleted. To do this, press [Menu]> [Edit]. Press.

  1. On the cell phone screen, press [ ].
  2. Press [Menu]> Press [Remove entries.

  1. Select the desired item, then click [Remove]> Press [Yes.
  • [Select all]: Select all items.
  • [Unselect]: Unselect all items.

Messages (SMS)

You can check the text messages (SMS) you have received from others.

If supported by the smartphone, you can check the text messages (SMS) you have received from others. On some smartphones you have to activate this function manually.

Check for new messages

When a message (SMS) is received, a pop-up screen is displayed. On the text message screen, press [View], [Listen] or [Close].

  • [View]: View text message.
  • [Listen]: Read out text message.
  • [Close]: Close text message screen.

Viewing and replying to text messages

  1. On the cell phone screen, press [ ].

  1. Select the entry you want to see.

  • [Listen]: Read out text message.
  • [Reply]: Reply to text message.
  • [Call]: Call the sender of the text message.
  1. To reply to the text message, press [Reply].

  1. Select the desired wording and press [Send].

Due to limited Bluetooth compatibility, some functions may not be supported.
