Porsche calls customers of Tacan into the workshops because the drive unit can turn off suddenly during operation. Potentially affected are around 43 worldwide.000 vehicles, in Germany around 3400. The incidence rate of the error is about 3 per thousand of the vehicles, so there is no reason to panic. There were no indulgers, injured or even dead.
If the error occurs, there is no propulsion, comparable to an outgoing, uncoupled lifting piston engine. Power steering, servo brake and overhead of the entire remainder including the high-voltage system remain functional. Although the car rolls out drive, but remains full of steering and brake. To fix the error on the way, it is sufficient to turn on and off again on the button to continue. The car has to stand for this.
Software hiccup
The error occurs because the communication between drive control and the inverters in the E-axes can swallow through a software error. Porsches solution therefore: a software update. This update plays the workshop, because then the inverters drive a calibration run. Although that might also be technically seen at the customer, Porsche makes it rather under the supervision of the mechanics.

Low bottom at the dashboard there is an on / off button. Not everyone knows that because the car turns on / off when putting in / off automatically. If the error occurs: there and turn on again, then continue. Waiting for bus rest is not up to.
Affected are all Tacal models that were produced by June 2021. Models produced from June are not affected. Porsches workshops write on the respective owners. The jerk call is free for customers. To what extent the problem concerns the technically almost identical audi e-tron (test) is not clear yet.
