Wolfsburg, 29. January 2015 – There are not many loses that the VW conceived consolidated models. One of them is closed in the summer, because then the Golf Variant is offered in sporting presentation together with the two-liter 184-hp diesel. So far, the in this class was only available in the Skoda Octavia and in Seat Leon. The rethinking at VW is probably not randomly right now: Ford has recently also offered the FOCUS tournament St as Diesel. He makes 185 hp.
The new golf combination is little surprising, which makes you no less attractive. The powerful diesel offers with 184 hp and 380 nm at least 34 hp and 40 nm more than the highest selfest self-cord in the variant. The maximum power is between 3500 and 4000 / min, the maximum torque between 1750 and 3250 / min. Thus, despite an empty weight of 1475 kilograms in conjunction with the manual transmission performance, which is really nimble: 7.9 seconds for the sprint from 0 to Tempo 100, the highest speed should be at 231 km / h. In the NEFZ 4.4 liters are promised. With the six-speed dual-clutch transmission, the curtain weight increases by 20 kilograms. VW calls for the combination 4.8 liters in the NEFZ and a highest speed of 229 km / h. Time for the standard sprint remains the same.
These are very competitive values: a Ford Focus St Tournament Diesel needs 8.3 seconds and reaches a maximum of 217 km / h, the consumption in the NEFZ quantifies Ford with 4.2 liters. Also interesting is the comparison with the 150-horsepower TDI in the Golf Variant: it reaches from the Stand Tempo 100 in 8.9 seconds and creates up to 218 km / h. In the NEFZ he is hardly more economical with 4.2 liters than the GTD Variant.
