Vw: electricity from wind power for plant in emden

In the VW factory in the East Frisian Emden, wind power should soon cover a five-grade of electricity demand. The four new plants are to be built by Marz 2014 on the factory landing in Hafenahe and in the end of the year energy directly into the substation of the factory feeding. "We are the wind-intensive region throughout Germany," said the VW Environment Manager at the location, Thomas Laaken. The 20 percent current content is only a computational value based on experiences for average wind strong in Emden. VW, however, also wants to ruste for flauts and asks a compressed air store to park in excess wind energy in them.

The four new plants come from the German market operator Enercon, whose headquarters are equally next door in the East Frisian Aurich. As Laaken reports, the modern Muhlen will help to run the factory to the coarse part with renewable energies. Already today, so without the four planned plants, the proportion of renewable energy sources in the EMD factory is around 50 percent. In addition to electricity, for example, energy sources for warm and temperature management, such as the chuck’s chest systems.

According to the German Weather Service DWD Gehort Ostfriesland together with Schleswig Holstein to the most profitable windmatic regions throughout Germany. The VW headquarters Wolfsburg, for example, goods suitable for the DWD information much worse for wind power. Generally, there is therefore a clear fall from North to Sud and West to East. By 2018, VW wants to reduce its energy consumption in the Group by 25 percent. The basis of this calculation is the same year 2010. It should also be saved for water, waste, exhaust gas outset and loose emissions.

VW is not the only company that currently relies more or less ambitious goals in this direction. BMW relates electricity for the production of its showcase E-car I3 from hydropower. Since June 2013, Audi has a power-to-gas system with 6 MW in operation, with which the synthetic natural gas is established. These are two of numerous examples the prove that the coarse automakers currently deal intensively with the topic of regenerative energies.
