Koln, 14. April 2011 – Volvo has transformed its self-condition for the model year 2012 and extended the availability of assistance systems on more model variants. The D5 mentioned diesel with five cylinders and 2.4 liters displacement increases the power by 10 hp to 215 hp, the maximum torque growth from 420 to 440 nm. This is accompanied by a lower consumption: the Volvo S80 D5 comes to a standard consumption of 4.9 liters to 100 kilometers, for the identical motorized S60 the manufacturer calls 4.7 liters Diesel. Both models previously had a standard consumption of 5.3 l / 100 km.

The power values of the smaller D3 motors with 2.0 liters remain the same, thanks to a new turbocharger, however, the force development should improve. All new D3 and D5 diesel engines in conjunction with a six-speed manual gather also get a start-stop automatic. The prices of the new diesel generation are not yet known.

More models with Drive variant

V70 and S80 are also available in the 2012 model year in the consumption-optimized drive variant. Your 1.6-liter diesel engine, which already has the start-stop system, has so far only been used in Volvo S60 and V60. The four-cylinder diesel provides 115 hp and has a maximum torque of 270 nm. In conjunction with a six-speed manual, Volvo estimates the consumption of the two new variants with 4.6 liters per 100 kilometers.
