Berlin, 15. May 2013 – The new European driving cycle (NEFZ) has been in criticism since its start in 1996. The arguments for and against the cycle should be actually exchanged after around 17 years, especially since the legislator sees improvement requirement. The main criticism is to today, the value determined in the NEFZ has to do too little with the practice. This now denounces the German Environment Help E.V. (DUH) again. The reasoning is partly adventurous paths.
The NEFZ should allow two. On the one hand, a realistic cycle for a consumption specification should be created. You can confidently consider that as failed. The cycle is 1180 seconds long and simulated to 2/3 city traffic, the rest of the country strain and highway with a maximum of 120 km / h. Driving the driver in real city traffic actually as in the NEFZ, he is a horn concert certainly. For the acceleration at speed 50 are planned around 26 seconds. To what extent a maximum speed of 120 km / h on German highways is realistic, every one may decide. In other European countries, the NEFZ is finally not only in Germany, this part of the test was allowed to come close to everyday life.
The second aspect is already a bit tricky. The NEFZ should make an absolute comparability between all cars. For this purpose, a long list of requirements have been created that each manufacturer has to comply. This is the serial equipment of the car, the start temperature and many more. Of course, the automakers have invested a lot of know-how to find a look in the requirement catalog. So especially Dunne Ole or unusually heavily inflated tires are used. That and a lot more throws the DUH the automakers. But the benefits just look that the legislators let them, especially since it goes a lot of money, finally threaten the car makers high penalties if they do not lower fleet consumption. So it’s a bit hypocritical to embody the manufacturers in these points. Rather, the law is bent here as possible. Fraud is, of course, if tax access recognizes a check cycle and then radically curse the performance in favor of a directed consumption. In the case of the passage required in the NEFZ, this does not fall on.
The accusation of DUH is anything but new: "Cars consume more than in the NEFZ" is a realization that has spoke around only Mabig car-interested people. But a look in reasoning the DUH is worthwhile. For reference, the ADAC Ecotest was used. That is determined in three steps. The ADAC tests the cars in the NEFZ, in the relatively new Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) and its own highway mode, where up to 130 km / h is driven. 70 percent of the end consumption determines an averaged value from NEFZ and WLTP, 30 percent of the motorway mode. Hazards is always with light, in the WLTP and the motorway procedure, the air conditioning is switched on.
