
Koln, 10. June 2010 – The Volvo XC90 is now also available with front drive and smaller diesel. The new entry-level model should connect sufficient performance and favorable consumption.
Engine from the new S60
A motorization is a funfzylinder turbodiesel with 2.4 liter capacity, common rail direct injection and a capacity of 163 hp. The maximum torque amounts to 340 Nm and is between 1750 and 3000 tours. The machine has recently left a convincing impression in the new Volvo S60. The significantly heavier SUV thus accelerates 100 km / h in 11.8 seconds, the highest speed is 190 km / h. Volvo promises a consumption of 8.5 l / 100 km. As a power transmission comes from the factory a six-speed automatic transmission including Geartronic function is used.
Good standard equipment
Like all XC90 versions, the D3 series also has a third row of seats and thus offers space for up to seven people. At the very back, however, it will be tight. For the standard equipment of the basic variant Kinetic numbers, among other things, an automatic climate control, 17-inch alus, the audio package "High Performance Sound" with radio / CD combination, USB interface and eight speakers, an automatic level regulation, fog lights, cruise control, roof rail and electric windows all around.

The new Volvo XC90 D3 Geartronic is in the equipment lines Kinetic, Edition, R-Design and Summum conservation. At the same time, with the comfort, business, multimedia and climate package, four new equipment packages for the SUV are available, which should offer a price advantage up to 36 percent against individual options. The prices for the front-wheel drive variant start at 39.990 euros.
