Without much Tamtam, Intel has presented the Core I3-10100F as a cheapest Core I offshoot from the 10000 series (Comet Lake-S). The processor extends largely to the already relevant Core i3-10100; Only the integrated graphics unit disables Intel. The price recommendation drops from 122 to $ 97. This corresponds approximately 95 euros including 16 percent VAT (US prices do not contain VAT.To).
Stay at the Core I3-10100F according to Intel’s ARK database four CPU cores including hyper-threading (eight threads), 3.6 to 4.3 GHz clock frequency and the handling of up to 128 GB of DDR4-2666-RAM. As a pure CPU without integrated GPU, the Core i3-10100F is suitable for favorable gaming PCs with a defensive graphics card – for Buro-PCs are rather CombiProcessors.
The process Core I3-9100F has fallen to about 65 euros in recent months. Without hyper-threading (four instead of eight threads), however, the processor is no longer future-proof. In addition, he uses the CPU-Fang LGA1151v2 instead of LGA1200, so only with ages mainboards, and works with slower DDR4-2400-RAM.
Competitor AMD Ryzen 3 3100
In the range of just under 100 euros, AMD offers the square Ryzen 3 3100, which can also work out eight threads thanks to Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) and comes without integrated GPU. With ZEN-2 architecture and 7-nanometer technology, the model falls faster than about the Ryzen 3 3200G – a 12 Nm Combination Processor from the Generation Zen+. Plus point against Intel: The Ryzen 3 3100 provides PCI-Express-4.0-lanes for a graphics card and M.2-SSD ready.
First handler lists the Core I3-10100F meanwhile already. Alternate significantly undercuts the price recommendation with just over 80 euros and thus also brings competitor AMD in a threading, which serves this price only with obsolete processors.
